ABOUT SPIRITBIRD CREATIONS

Spiritbird Creations showcases unique artefacts handcrafted by Arron Nicholls. Arron is a proud Wadi Wadi, Ngarrindjeri, Wiradjuri man with strong connections to river country, especially the beautiful Murray River amongst the River Red Gums and Mallee.

As a teenager Arron’s uncle taught him how to make boomerangs and clap sticks, while working together his uncle shared stories, connecting Arron to his culture and his people. Arron knew this was more than just learning technical skills and that his uncle was teaching him patience, resilience, accountability, and respect.

As his uncle did for him, Arron uses woodwork to connect with young people in his role as a youth worker. He sees himself as part of a much bigger process, a middle man, first learning from the old people, creating his work and sharing with whoever is ready to learn.

Spiritbird Creations evolved from Arron’s passion for his specialist craft and culture and connecting with people and country. Arron spends most of his time travelling, out on country, connecting, creating and teaching workshops.

Spiritbird Creations offers a unique range of artefacts, each integrated with Arron’s own cultural journey and showcasing his outstanding craftmanship. Every piece is an opportunity to connect with Spiritbird Creations, the stories and the journey.
